Chelsea still favourites despite Hull scare

Chelsea remain marginal favourites to win the Premier League despite a scare against Hull City in their opening match of the season on Saturday.

Carlo Ancelotti's side went 1-0 down after 28 minutes at Stamford Bridge, with Stephen Hunt scoring from close range.

Didier Drogba hit back from a debatable free-kick seven minutes later, but Hull held strong and a 1-1 draw appeared on the cards until two minutes into injury time, when Drogba snatched the winner.

Reigning champions Manchester United were arguably more convincing as they comfortably defeated Birmingham City 1-0 at Old Trafford, but the results have made little difference to the betting, with Chelsea 15/8 to take the title at Blue Square(Go to Blue Square »), while the Red Devils are 9/4.

Liverpool, who lost 2-1 to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, are still the third favourites at 9/2 with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes »). Meanwhile, Arsenal - 6-1 victors away at Everton - are available at 5/1.
