Vidic and Neville set to return for United
Manchester United defenders Nemanja Vidic and Gary Neville should be fit to play against Wigan Athletic this weekend, according to manager Sir Alex Ferguson. The Old Trafford side's coach said that it is "positive news" that the Serbian centre-back is likely to be ready for tomorrow's (August 22nd) game, adding that Neville could also offer valuable experience if open for selection.
Sir Alex said: "Nemanja has trained with us for ten days and he is ready for the game."
It was bad news for Rio Ferdinand, however, as Ferguson stated he will be out for "three to four weeks".
Ferdinand, who featured for United against Chelsea in the Community Shield earlier this month, sustained a thigh injury ahead of the opening match of the season.
Having lost to Burnley in midweek, last season's Premier League winners will be eager to bounce back against the Latics and are 8/15 favourites with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »).
Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet ») has Wigan at 9/2 for the win.
