Benitez: Liverpool must win at Bolton
Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has claimed that the side need to win away at Bolton to regain confidence after losing two of their three starting matches in the Premier League this season. A 3-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Anfield last night (August 24th) broke a 31-match unbeaten streak at home, dating back to December 2007.
Benitez admitted that the north-west team "did not play well" against the West Midlands outfit, but suggested his side could still win the title.
He remarked: "This squad is virtually the same as last season, so I believe it is good enough to mount a title challenge. But we must do more, we must win at Bolton."
A Steven Gerrard foul led to a successful penalty taken by Ashley Young that secured the game for Villa, after a Lucas Leiva own goal and a Curtis Davies header put the visitors two ahead.
Torres, who is a 3/1 favourite with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to be this year's top goalscorer, netted to put the scores at 2-1 before the match-winning spot strike.
Totesport(Go to Totesport ») currently has Liverpool at 13/2 to take the trophy this year.
