Football Betting - Portsmouth Odds Better After Al Fahim Pledge?

Portsmouth could be set to receive a boost after new owner Sulaiman Al Fahim promised imminent investment to the club.

The south-coast based team are currently wallowing at the bottom of the table, with no points from the first seven games of the season, but Al Fahim has pledged to get the club's finances in order.

In a statement on Pompey's official website, he stated: "I can assure supporters that there is a plan in place backed by firm commitments that will bring £50 million into Portsmouth Football Club over the next two to three weeks."

According to Al Fahim, the immediate focus is to remain in the Premier League and he expressed his commitment to moving Pompey forward through shrewd investment.

Stan James(Go to Stan James ») currently has Portsmouth as most likely to get relegated this season, offering 1/4 odds that the team will go down after this campaign.

They play last year's Championship winners Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at the weekend, with Wolves favoured by Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») at 11/10.
