Hughes 'not Betting On City Premier League Win'

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has acknowledged that his team may not win the Premier League this year.

The former Manchester United player even played down chances of breaking into the upper echelons, but stated that this does not mean the club will not be a force, the Daily Mirror reports.

He told the news source: "We might not be in a position to win the league or even get in the top four for a number of seasons, but we will stop other teams from doing it."

Despite this, people will recognise that the Eastland's outfit will have a say in what happens in the Premier League this season, Hughes added.

The side's performance in their 4-3 loss to Manchester United on Sunday (September 20th) has silenced a lot of critics, he stated, noting that the Blues came out of the game looking good.

City next face West Ham at home on September 28th, with the former a 2/5 favourite with Stan James(Go to Stan James »).

Those who fancy the north-west-based club's chances of breaking the top four can bet with 888Sport(Go to 888sport ») at odds of 5/4.
