Football Betting News - Portsmouth Owner Pledges Stability
New Portsmouth owner Ali Al Faraj has pledged his commitment to bringing stability to the south-coast team. Pompey remain rooted at the bottom of the Premier League table, despite picking up three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium on Sunday (October 4th).
Al Faraj has already brought in former Chelsea boss Avram Grant as director of football at Fratton Park and confirmed that steadying the boat is his top priority.
He remarked: "Our aim is to put a stable foundation in place in all aspects of the business, beginning with the financial restructuring of the club."
According to Al Faraj, a team of professionals will be brought in to assess "all aspects" of the organisation and they will work alongside chief executive officer Peter Storrie.
Those confident that the changes promised by the new owner will lift the team out of the relegation zone can put money on them staying up this season at 11/8 with Totesport(Go to Totesport »).
However, Stan James(Go to Stan James ») still considers them one of the favourites to go down and offers odds of 2/5 that this will happen.
