Football Betting News - Capello To Play Rio Despite Gaffes
England manager Fabio Capello has confirmed he will not be dropping Rio Ferdinand from the squad ahead of tonight's final 2010 World Cup qualifying match with Belarus. Betfred(Go to Betfred ») currently has England as a 2/13 favourite for the game, despite the team losing their first contest of the campaign against Ukraine on Saturday (October 10th).
While Ferdinand could be blamed for a blunder that led to goalkeeper Robert Green getting sent off and a penalty being awarded, Capello stated he is a "big man" for England.
"I was not tempted to leave him out against Belarus. He is fit and will be in the starting XI because he is one of the best defenders in England," he remarked.
The 63-year-old former Real Madrid coach added that he will sit down with the central defender and analyse a DVD of the Ukraine match to see what mistakes were made.
Punters looking to bet on the underdogs will find Belarus at 20/1 with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet »).
