Football Betting - Pompey Relegation Favourites Despite New Manager

Avram Grant's appointment as Portsmouth manager has not lifted the club's chances of escaping relegation in many bookmakers' eyes.

Pompey are currently 15/8 favourites at Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») to finish the Premier League season at the bottom of the table, with Grant having taken over from Paul Hart earlier this week.

The former Chelsea boss will now be in charge for the south coast team's upcoming match against reigning champions Manchester United on Saturday (November 28th).

According to the Peter Storrie, Grant has the experience and respect to lift Pompey's Premier League hopes.

He told the club's official website: "It was the logical move to make him the next manager, once the board had decided to relieve Paul Hart of the role."
