Football Betting - Campbell's United Transfer Rumour Quashed
Rumours that free agent Sol Campbell is a transfer option for Manchester United have been quashed by Sir Alex Ferguson. Campbell was linked to the club after United suffered a spate of injuries to their defence, with Nemanja Vidic, John O'Shea, Jonny Evans and Rio Ferdinand all currently out.
However, the Reds manager has played down the reports by stating that the 35-year-old veteran defender "was a great player", but is not being considered as a signing.
"I don't know where this came from, but it is all wrong," he added.
With only Vidic expected to return to action at the weekend, the Premier League champions may still be thin at the back against Aston Villa on Saturday (December 12th).
Despite this, Sir Alex's side are 1/2 favourites with bookmaker Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet ») to win the match at Old Trafford.
Those looking to bet on the away team can place money on Villa with 888Sport(Go to 888sport ») at 13/2.
