Ancelloti: We Are Not In Form
Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti has claimed the club's recent run of poor form is because of the hectic Christmas playing schedule. The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw against West Ham United at Upton Park last night (December 21st), with a Frank Lampard penalty levelling the game after the Hammers went ahead in the first half.
Talking to Sky Sports News, Ancelotti said the Stamford Bridge side failed to get into the first 45 minutes of the match.
He remarked: "We're not in the best moment but every team has problems in this period."
According to the Italian boss, the team is suffering from having played games "every three days", which has led to a loss of concentration and strength.
Despite only getting one point on Sunday, Chelsea remain the favourites to win the Premier League this season, with bookmaker William Hill(Go to William Hill ») offering odds of 4/6.
Skybet(Go to Skybet ») has nearest rivals Manchester United at 3/1 after Sir Alex Ferguson's men lost 3-0 to Fulham on Saturday.
