Hughes' Sacking "unacceptable", Fergie Says
The manner in which Manchester City directors have handled the sacking of Mark Hughes has been described as "unacceptable behaviour" by Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite being the manager of rival club Manchester United, Sir Alex has come forward condemning the treatment of Hughes, who was ousted from his job at Eastlands despite losing only two games all season.
He remarked: "For some reason Christmas seems to bring out the worst in directors. I do not know how you can do something like that."
Hughes was dismissed after defeating Sunderland 4-3 last Saturday (December 19th), following widespread reports earlier in the week that he was to be replaced by Roberto Mancini.
According to Sir Alex, the former United player "must have realised" by kick-off that he was being forced out of the club, adding: "It was a terrible position to be in."
Bettors who think City players will bounce back from the loss of their coach can find them at odds of 2/5 to beat Stoke on Boxing Day with a number of bookmakers including Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») and Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »).
