Bolton Sacks Megson
Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson has been sacked, the club has confirmed, something which could affect the side's odds of getting relegated. Despite sitting third from bottom in the Premier League, Bolton are 3/1 to drop to the Championship with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »), while Hull City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Portsmouth, Burnley and West Ham are all considered more likely to go down.
A statement from the Trotters noted that Megson was "relieved of his duties" based on the current position of the side halfway through the season.
It read: "Assistant manager Chris Evans and first-team coach Steve Wigley will take charge of first-team matters for the interim period."
Megson took over the job in October 2007, but struggled to win over the fans even though he guided Bolton to safety during his first season.
The side are next due to face Arsenal, a game in which they are 14/1 underdogs with bookmaker Bet365(Go to Bet365 »).
