Darren Ferguson 'to Be Preston Manager'
Darren Ferguson, the son of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, is to take over the manager position at Preston North End, according to one news provider.BBC Sport understands that he accepted an offer from the Championship club on Sunday and the appointment is expected to be confirmed later this week.
Ferguson has been linked to Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday since leaving Peterborough in November, but it appears he is now set for a term at Deepdale after reportedly meeting with Preston's board.
The Lilywhites are currently 16th in the Championship table, eight points behind the playoff places.
They host Donacaster Rovers at home on Saturday and are 11/10 to win at Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power »), while a victory for the visitors is priced at 11/5.
William Hill(Go to William Hill »), which installed Ferguson as joint favourite to replace Gary Megson at Bolton at the end of last month, offers odds of 11/5 on a draw.
