O'Shea Out For Season Due To Blood Clot
Manchester United all-rounder John O'Shea will sit out the remainder of the season due to complications in a leg injury resulting in a blood clot. Reds coach Sir Alex Feguson confirmed the news, telling the Irish Examiner that the damage is "terrible".
He remarked: "The problem is that the blood clot became all knotted and when it gets knotted you get calcification."
According to the manager, this means he will miss the rest of the campaign, which he said is a particular blow due to his ability to play in every position.
Originally, the injury had been put down to nothing more than a dead leg, Sir Alex added, but this usually only lasts three to four days.
Manchester United next face Hull on Saturday (January 23rd), a match in which Totesport(Go to Totesport ») has the Old Trafford side as 1/7 favourites to win.
Those looking to bet on the underdogs can find Hull at 14/1 with Betfred(Go to Betfred »).
