Robinho Exit Confirmed
Following rumours of an imminent departure, Manchester City have now announced that Robinho will be leaving the club to join Santos on loan. The agreement, which is for a six-month period, has followed widespread speculation that the Brazilian playmaker would be leaving.
City confirmed that the deal will begin immediately, with the South American team taking on the player's wages and bonuses throughout his time with them.
Commenting on the move, manager of the Eastlands side Roberto Mancini said: "Robinho is someone who needs to be playing regularly and we wish him well for the period of his loan."
The club suggested that Robinho's decision to leave is due to fears that he will fail to be first choice for his national squad if he does not get enough games under his belt while in the Premiership.
Mancini's men next face Portsmouth, with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet ») and Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet ») both offering odds of 2/7 that City will clinch all three points.
