Liverpool 'in Trouble After First-leg Loss'

Liverpool face an uphill task to qualify from the Europa League after they lost their first leg 1-0 to French team Lille.

The game was settled in the 85th minute, when Eden Hazard's long-range freekick found the bottom corner.

As a result, Liverpool are now 77/100 to qualify for the next round with Betdaq(Go to Betdaq »).

It was their second defeat in four days, having been beaten at Wigan in the Premier League by the same scoreline on Monday.

The reds have now slipped to 6/1 with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet ») and Totesport(Go to Totesport ») to lift the cup, as Italian side Juventus are now favourites.

It could have been worse for the Merseyside outfit though, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rattled the post minutes after Lille had taken the lead.

The result may increase the pressure on Rafael Benitez, whose position has been under scrutiny all season.

But he remains confident and said: "The reaction has been very positive. I am disappointed with the result, but really pleased with the effort of the players."
