Rooney Doubtful For Milan Game

Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is doubtful for the Champions League second-leg game against AC Milan.

The England striker has a swollen knee, although Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») still make the Reds favourites for the tie at 8/15.

Sir Alex Ferguson noted that playing at Wembley on Sunday, followed by a midweek friendly for his country, had taken its toll on the 24-year-old.

"He's a doubt for Wednesday, which is a bigger problem for us," said Ferguson. "It wasn't looking good when he got back on Thursday - his knee was swollen."

A Rooney-less United managed to scrape a 1-0 away victory at Wolves on Saturday to return to the top of the Premier League, but the manager was annoyed that he played almost 80 minutes on Wednesday.
