Keane 'unlikely To Stay At Celtic'

Robbie Keane is unlikely to stay in the Scottish Premier League beyond the six-month loan he is currently on, according to his boss.

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray conceded that it is highly improbable that the Republic of Ireland captain will be at the club next year, primarily due to financial constraints.

He told the BBC: "Robbie's last transfer was for what, £12m? I don't think the board would loosen the purse strings to that extent. Those days are gone."

St Johnstone come to Celtic Park this weekend and the Hoops will be hoping to put some pressure on league leaders Rangers.

The club are 1/4 to win with Coral(Go to Coral ») and Keane has odds of 5/2 with Totesport(Go to Totesport ») to open the scoring.

Mowbray knows his team can ill-afford anymore slip ups after falling 13 points behind their Glasgow-based rivals.

But the news provider noted that he should be boosted by the return of Artut Boruc, Glenn Loovens and Paddy McCourt for the game.
