Rio Ferdinand 'wants Wigan Favour'
Rio Ferdinand is hoping that Wigan can do Manchester United a favour in the Premiership title race. They take on Chelsea on Sunday (May 9th) and Ferdinand will be loking for them to hold out for a draw, a result that would leave the door ajar for United.
But Wigan are rank outsiders in the game, with Coral offering odds of 25/1 on them claiming three points, while Chelsea are 1/12 with expekt.
But the England captain told MUTV: "It's been an exciting season. More so-called lesser teams on paper have been taking points off the top four."
He added that in recent campaigns the big teams have only lost games to each other but this has changed.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Aston Villa have already lost to Wigan while United were defeated by Burnley.
Calling some of the results "weird", Ferdinand is praying that it will continue so his side can pull off a remarkable fourth-straight championship.
