Kauto Star is the new favourite to win this year's Cheltenham Gold Cup following the defeat of reigning champion Denman in the Levy Board Chase at Kempton over the weekend.Denman had been a huge favourite in the horse racing betting going into Saturday's race but was easily outkicked by Madison Du Berlais and question marks now hover over his form. The Paul Nicholls-trained horse was out of action for most of 2008 due to heart problems.Kauto Star, the 2007 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner, is now the favourite to take the title back this year, ahead of Denman and Neptune Collognes.Madison Du Berlais is the fourth most fancied of the expected runners.Despite slipping in the gold cup betting, Denman remains the favourite to win this year's Aintree Grand National ahead of Hear The Echo, although it has been hinted he will not run the race until 2010 as a ten-year-old.
