Cheltenham Gold Cup runners confirmed

The 28 runners taking part in the 2009 Cheltenham Gold Cup have been confirmed.Kauto Star, the 2007 winner, heads the field in the horse racing betting and is a strong favourite to take back the title he lost to stablemate Denman last year.Denman returns as the second best-backed horse, followed by Neptune Collonges, Madison Du Berlais, Exotic Dancer, Barbers Shop and Albertas Run.Notre Pere and Star De Mohaison are the only other horses with odds of less than 30/1, with Milan Deux Mille, Arteea and Cerium ranked as the outsiders at 500/1 or more.War of Attrition, which won the famous race back in 2006, is another horse making its return and is rated as a 33/1 shot by most bookmakers.For much of last year, Denman was the favourite to retain his Gold Cup crown, but his stock dropped following his loss to Madison Du Berlais at Kempton last weekend.
