Kauto Star hot favourite as Gold Cup field is named

A total of 16 runners have been named for tomorrow's Cheltenham Festival highlight - the Gold Cup.War of Attrition - a winner in 2006 - was the only withdrawal from the field, as trainer Morris Mouse opted not to take a chance on him.But hot favourite Kauto Star - who won the race two years ago - is among the pack and will be seeking to regain the crown after chasing Denman home last year.The reigning champion is the third favourite, with bookmakers giving a slight edge to Neptune Collanges, who followed Kauto Star past the post in 2008.All three fancied horses are trained by Paul Nicholls and he also has My Will and Star De Mohaison in the field.Odds on Kauto Star are currently 2/1 in the online horse racing betting market, with Neptune Collanges and Denman rated at 5/1 and 6/1 respectively.Nicholls tasted success in the Queen Mother Champion Chase yesterday, as Master Minded defended his title with a comprehensive seven-length victory.
