Newmarket comeback for Borderlescott

Borderlescott is set to make his seasonal debut at Newmarket this weekend, his trainer has confirmed. The seven-year-old won the rearranged Nunthorpe Stakes last August and is now likely to make a comeback in the Palace House Stakes on Saturday (May 2nd).Robin Bastiman explained that the horse has been "working well" in preparations for the race and is considered to be well suited to the weights."He seems well in himself, but we've had one or two who've got muck on their lungs, so we'll get him checked out as a precaution," added the trainer. Also taking place at Newmarket this weekend is the 2,000 Guineas, with Rip Van Winkle one of the leading contenders.Trainer Aidan O'Brien told racingpost.com that the horse suffered an injury scare earlier in the week, but he remains one of the favourites with Paddy Power at 4/1.The same price is given for stablemate Mastercraftsman, with Delegator the favourite at 7/2.
