Overdose to miss Royal Ascot

Overdose has been ruled out of next month's Royal Ascot, it has been revealed. The unbeaten Hungarian horse's owner Zoltan Mikoczy told the Racing Post that a foot injury is taking longer than expected to clear up.According to the publication, Overdose had been ante-post favourite for the both the King's Stand Stakes and the Golden Jubilee. But Milkoczy explained that there will not be enough recovery time before the meeting at the Berkshire course, which begins on June 16th."The inflammation spread from his left foreleg to the right, possibly because of the fact that he was standing on the right leg," he said.Scenic Blast is currently 6/1 favourite for the Golden Jubilee, although punters can get odds of 8/1 with Paddy Power.Takeover Target, meanwhile, will be aiming for victory on his fourth and final visit after finishing second, third and fourth on previous attempts. He is priced 8/1 by Victor Chandler, while other bookmakers give him odds of 12/1.
