Fantasia trainer rejects favourite tag
Trainer Luca Cumani has been keen to play down the chances of Fantasia in the upcoming French 1,000 Guineas. The horse is odds-on favourite for the Longchamp race at 4/5 with 888 Sport , having come out on top at the Nell Gwyn Stakes. However, Cumani himself fancies the chances of some of the other runners and expressed a note of pessimism."She's in good form, but there are three very nice French fillies in the race and it's not going to be easy," said the trainer, adding that the short-price favourite tag has not yet been earned. Blue Square rates Elusive Wave as the nearest challenger, currently offering punters 5/2, while Proportional's odds have come in to 5/1 and Tamazirte is priced 6/1.Fantasia, meanwhile, is set to once again be mounted by Frankie Dettori - as Moonlife is not running in Sunday's race - having sat out the Newmarket equivalent last weekend.
