Channon looks forward to Ascot

Trainer Mick Channon has stated that he is "looking forward" to racing Youmzain in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Ascot on July 25th. The horse has achieved high-level victories abroad, but is yet to obtain Group One success here in the UK.It is likely the six-year-old will be tried in headgear for the race after Channon worked the horse in the visor on Monday (July 13th) and had some success. A statement on the trainer's website noted: "He's in great fettle and the visor appeared to have a positive effect."Youmzain recently finished third in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in France after being tipped as a favourite. Conduit is currently the favourite with a number of bookmakers to come first in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and can be found at 2/1 with William Hill (Go to William Hill »). Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet ») provides odds of 9/4 on Youmzain.
