Hannon: We are not worried about the competition

Richard Hannon has admitted he is not concerned about Paco Boy's competition in the July Cup at Newmarket tomorrow. The trainer confessed that the state of the ground is much more worrying than the horse's opponents Scenic Blast and Art Connoisseur, Sky Sports News reports. He remarked: "We don't think we saw anything from the Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot to worry us too much … we are not worried about the opposition."Scenic Blast is a fantastic runner, Hannon stated, but dry conditions on the turf at Newmarket are more likely to have an effect on Paco Boy. If the track becomes too dry, he added, there would be no hesitation in withdrawing the horse from the race. Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet ») has Scenic Blast as the favourite to romp home first at the Class 1 July Cup at odds of 6/4. Paco Boy is available at 5/1 with bookmaker Betfair (Go to Betfair »).
