Sea The Stars 'will win without rain'

Sea The Stars will triumph at the Group 1 Juddmonte Stakes next week as long as it does not rain, it has been suggested.

Malcolm Heyhoe wrote for the Guardian that victory seems almost certain for the 2,000 Guineas, Derby and Eclipse winner if conditions are favourable.

"If the forecast rain misses York and the ground is good, then Sea The Stars will surely win his fourth Group 1 race of the season," he remarked.

His comments were made as trainer John Oxx voiced concerns that the ground might be soft on Sunday, which could potentially see the colt withdrawn from the race.

Sea The Stars has arguably been the year's outstanding flat horse so far and is the best three-year-old in Europe, according to Timeform, which has given him a rating of 136.

He is a 1/2 favourite to win at York with Bet365(Go to Bet365 »), with Mastercraftsman - 2/1 at Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») - expected to be his main rival.
