Sea The Stars Kinane's 'best ride'
Jockey Mick Kinane has suggested that Sea The Stars could be the finest horse he has ever ridden. The 20-year professional, whose mounts include quadruple Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats and Rock of Gibraltar, was quoted by the Liverpool Daily Post as suggesting the reigning 2000 Guineas, Derby and Eclipse champion has everything needed to be one of the greats.
"He is up there with the best horses I have ridden. He may be the best," Kinane remarked. "He has it all, mentally and physically. He is the complete package."
Sea The Stars is a big favourite to secure his fourth Group 1 victory of the season at York on Tuesday, when he is scheduled to run in the Juddmonte Stakes.
William Hill(Go to William Hill ») offers 1/2 on the flat star, with nearest rivals Mastercraftsman and Tartan Bearer 2/1 and 7/1 respectively at Coral(Go to Coral »).
However, if the ground is too soft, he will likely be withdrawn from the race and instead entered into next month's Tattersalls Million Irish Champion Stakes, where he could face Irish Derby winner Fame And Glory.
