Bell hopeful for Art Connoisseur victory

Trainer Michael Bell has expressed his belief that Art Connoisseur could be suited to today's (August 21st) Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes.

The Newmarket-based Bell told At The Races that he is happy with the horse's form and is confident the course will not pose any problems.

He remarked: "I think the track will suit him, it's really a question of whether he is as effective over six (furlongs) as five."

Art Connoisseur won the Golden Jubilee at Royal Ascot over six furlongs on the course last year, something Bell believes will give him an advantage, as "by the furlong marker … he was in front" for that race.

Other participants in the event include Radiohead, Kingsgate Native, Tax Free and Amour Propre.
