Youmzain heading for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
Youmzain is currently a 25/1 shot with bookmaker Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports ») to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe next month. The colt, which has finished second in the race twice before, is being lined up for this Sunday's (September 6th) Grosser Preis von Baden-Baden in Germany in preparation for the Group One event.
According to owner Jaber Abdullah's racing manager Bruce Raymond, the Mick Channon-trained horse has recovered from a joint problem that ruled him out of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes earlier this year.
He remarked: "He is fine at the moment, it is just a case of whether Mick thinks he is well enough to go for a Group One," adding that if Youmzain is not able to run at the weekend, the aim is still to enter him in the Arc.
Race favourite for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe - which is held on the first Sunday of October - is Fame and Glory, with Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») offering the horse at 4/1 to win.
