Horse racing - Odds different after removal of Aquarius?

Age Of Aquarius, ante-post favourite for tomorrow's (September 12th) St Leger, has been pulled from the race by trainer Aidan O'Brien.

Totesport(Go to Totesport ») had previously offered odds of 2/1 on the colt romping home first in the event, but O'Brien claims there were last-minute fears over the horse.

"We were not 100 per cent happy with him after his canter this morning and decided not to declare him," the Ballydoyle handler remarked on Thursday.

Without the Grand Prix de Paris runner-up, O'Brien must now pin his hopes on Johnny Murtagh atop Changingoftheguard - which came second at Ebor - to claim first prize.

Stan James(Go to Stan James ») currently has the horse as a 3/1 second favourite, while Kite Wood leads the odds at 9/4

Von Jawlensky, a rank outsider at 100/1 with Sportingbet(Go to Sportingbet »), will also be running.

The removal of Age Of Aquarius, along with stable companion Rockhampton, leaves eight starters for the race.
