Horse Racing Betting - Odds Affected By Queally US Debut?
Jockey Tom Queally could be set to make his US debut if he accompanies Twice Over in the Breeders' Cup next month after receiving the backing of the horse's owner. Prince Khaled Abdullah has offered his support should the Champion Stakes-winning horse make it to Santa Anita and Queally expressed his pleasure at being selected for such a prestigious event, with many stables usually choosing home-grown talent.
"It's good that at this stage of my career I can ride in such a high-profile [event] as the Breeders' Cup," he remarked, adding that he was "obviously delighted" that Prince Abdullah has given him the go ahead.
Twice Over is scheduled to run on synthetic ground for the first time at the Breeders' Cup Classic, with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offering odds of 14/1 that the horse will romp home first.
Race favourite Rip Van Winkle is available at 6/4 with bookmaker Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet »).
