Horse Racing Betting - Williams Confirms Hennessy Runners
State of Play and Cappa Bleu are confirmed for this weekend's Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup, according to Evan Williams. The trainer said that both horses were schooled on Monday and while the intention had never been to run State of Play, plans have changed.
He remarked: "He gets in there off a featherweight and the old horse has come to hand over the last fortnight so it looks sensible to run him."
State of Play scored a victory in the Newbury feature in 2006 and has finished fourth in the Grand National.
Stable jockey Paul Moloney will partner the horse for Saturday's (November 28th) feature, while Jamie Moore is set to be atop Cappa Bleu, Williams added.
Of the two runners, Cappa Bleu is the bookies' favourite, with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offering odds of 9/1 on him romping home first.
Betfair(Go to Betfair ») has State of Play at 20/1, while Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») considers Denman to be the most likely to lift the title at 4/1.
