Imperial Commander Prepared For "favourite Track" At Cheltenham
Imperial Commander is likely to shine at this year's Cheltenham Festival, his trainer has said.Nigel Twiston-Davies told At The Races the horse is in very good condition and ready to challenge Kauto Star and Denman in the Gold Cup.
Referring to a disappointing run at Kempton on Boxing Day, he said: "Forget the King George, he hit one early and did well to stay on his feet. Let's go back to his favourite track (Cheltenham) and see what happens."
Kauto Star is the odds-on favourite at 4/5 with William Hill(Go to William Hill »), while Denman and Imperial Commander are priced 7/2 and 14/1 repsectively.
However, Skybet(Go to Skybet ») offers odds of 10/1 that Twiston-Davies's charge will be successful.
Meanwhile, the trainer noted that Khyber Kim is in good form ahead of next month's meeting at Cheltenham, where he is among the favourites for the Champion Hurdle - bookmakers generally pricing the eight-year-old at 8/1.
