Fallon Pulls Out Of Ride
Former champion jockey Kieren Fallon has pulled out of a ride at the Cheltenham Festival next week.Fallon only returned to the saddle last September after serving an 18-month drugs ban.
The six-times flat jockey champion was meant to be riding Old McDonald in the Cheltenham Bumper, who was ranked as a 16/1 shot with Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet »).
But the trainer of the horse, Noel Glynn, stated that he had received a text message from Fallon saying he would be staying in Dubai.
Although initially disappointed, he noted that: "Luckily for us it's worked out grand as Noel Meade hasn't got a runner in the bumper and we've got Paul Carberry booked to ride."
Indeed, Glynn added that it might actually work in his favour, as Carberry is very experienced around the track.
The current favourite for the race is Elegant Concorde, who is available with Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») and Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes ») at odds of 6/1.
