Character Building 'ready For The National'

Character Building is in with a chance of winning this year's Grand National, according to his trainer.

John Quinn made the comments after the silver horse put in a disappointing display last time out, finishing unplaced behind Chief Dan George in the William Hill Trophy, Sky Sports reports.

"He's fine. The ground was too fast for him and they were just a bit quick," he told the news provider.

Quinn observed that if he can make it past the famous Chair jump, he will have a realistic shot at emerging victorious.

The steed is currently 25/1 with Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet »), although its odds have drifted to 28/1 with WBX(Go to WBX »).

Another mount that is fancied is Backstage and trainer Gordon Elliott remarked that the animal's preparations have been hampered by some bad terrain at Navan on Sunday (March 28th).

"We'll be hoping the ground dries up now and you'll see a totally different horse," he said to the information outlet.
