Murphy Still To Decide Who To Run In The National

Timmy Murphy has yet to decide which horse he is to ride in this year's Grand National.

David Pipe's stable jockey has a choice between Comply or Die - the 2008 winner of the race - or The Package.

The later is currently third favourite with the bookies, with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») offering odds of 12/1 the mount will emerge victorious.

However, the previous champion is less fancied - 25/1 with Victor Chandler(Go to VCBet ») - although it does have a runners-up spot to go along with its other notable result and Chester Barnes, assistant trainer to Mr Pipe, noted it was a difficult decision.

"A seven-year-old has not won the Grand National since 1940 and although it is a very good choice to have, it is also a very hard one," he said.

Madison du Berlais has been confirmed as a competitor, which means that the nine-year-old will be the heaviest charge in the event, at 11st 10lbs.
