McCoy Hoping To Win The National
Tony McCoy will be seeking to break his Grand National duck after he chose to ride Don't Push It.He has spent the last couple of weeks deliberating over whether to race the mount or to go with Can't Buy Time, but he has finally decided.
The charge is 20/1 with Ladbrokes(Go to Ladbrokes »), while Can't Buy Time is 25/1 with Totesport(Go to Totesport »).
Both horses are trained by Jonjo O'Neill and owned by Irish millionaire JP McManus.
"We left the decision completely up to AP [McCoy]," said McManus' racing manager, Frank Berry. "It didn't matter to us which one he wanted to ride and he's happy with Don't Push It."
The 14-time champion jockey will be hoping to improve on his best finish to date of third, a place he has managed on three separate occasions.
McCoy noted that it was everyone's dream to win a Grand National, but "you need lots of luck".
The defending champion, Mon Mome, is 11/1 with Stan James(Go to Stan James ») to record back-to-back victories.
