Peel fitness in doubt for Wales
Wales could be without Dwayne Peel for this weekend's Six Nations clash with Italy. The scrum-half was chosen for the starting line-up over Mike Phillips, but is set to undergo a scan on an injured hamstring.Should he be ruled out, Phillips would partner fellow Osprey James Hook, the fly-half having been brought in for Stephen Jones in one of ten changes made by coach Warren Gatland following the defeat to France. But cover for the number nine position would be limited, as both Gareth Cooper and Martin Roberts are doubtful, prompting Wales to call in Warren Fury of London Irish."[Roberts] sustained a rib cartilage injury on Sunday and went off in the second half. He is obviously very sore and we plan to run a few more tests on him," said Gatland, adding that Cooper is having groin problems despite having recovered from knee surgery.Wales saw their chances of achieving back-to-back grand slams disappear when they were beaten 21-16 in France, but are given odds of 7/4 to take the title.Unbeaten Ireland are 4/6 favourites in online rugby union betting markets.
