Wallace: We can still do it
David Wallace is still confident that the British & Irish Lions can defeat South Africa in the remaining two matches of the three-Test rugby union series, even though the team lost 26-21 at the weekend. The Munster player admitted it would be difficult to win the two games, considering the altitude, but claimed the side were lifted by their efforts on Saturday. He said: "We gave them such a lead at the start and we were always chasing it. That made life difficult for us."South Africa gained an early advantage by scoring a try and a number of penalties, with Tendai Mtawarira - otherwise known as 'The Beast' - dominating the proceedings. However, a late comeback from the Lions saw them score three tries and let other chances slip through their fingers to finish the match only five points behind the Springboks. The Lions face the South Africans in Pretoria this weekend, with Betdaq (Go to Betdaq ») having the latter as 2/5 favourites. Boyle Sports (Go to Boyle Sports ») currently has the Lions at 2/1.
