O'Driscoll: I want no part of losing
Brian O'Driscoll has confirmed the British & Irish Lions intent to beat South Africa, who are 3/10 favourites at Centrebet (Go to Centrebet »), in the first match of the upcoming rugby union Test series on Saturday. The Irishman stated that he had "no interest" in being part of a losing side and suggested his teammates feel the same. He said: "This is where you want to be playing, with the best players from Britain and Ireland against the world champions
defeat is not an option." However, it was not his intention to heap extra pressure on himself or the squad, he added. This year represents the Irish Grand Slam skipper's third Lions tour, with appearances in 2001 and 2005. While he captained the team four years ago, his series was cut short when he sustained a dislocated shoulder against New Zealand in the first Test. Those wanting to bet on the Lions to win Saturday's game can find odds of 5/2 at Blue Square (Go to Blue Square »).
