Blair injury concern for Lions
Mike Blair could be absent from the British & Irish Lions' game against the Southern Kings tomorrow if he has not recovered from an ankle injury by midday. The Scottish scrum-half missed Saturday's match against Western Province after hurting his ankle in training on Friday and Lions doctor Gary O'Driscoll claimed the medics will have one more day to work on the joint before a decision is made by coach Ian McGeechan."Ian has given the medical team until Tuesday morning to work on Mike and he will have a full fitness test then," he commented. He added that the squad's three scrum halves - including Blair's replacement Harry Ellis - have been examined and it is expected that they will all be available for selection in a few days time. The Lions extended their unbeaten run of matches in South Africa to five with their 26-23 win over Western Province and they are 1/22 at Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet ») to make it six triumphs in a row against the Kings, with Betfair (Go to Betfair ») offering 7/1 on an upset victory for the home side.
