McGeechan: Next two games are "critical"
British & Irish Lions coach Ian McGeechan has named his team for the upcoming rugby union match against the Sharks in Durban on Wednesday. McGeechan described the Lions' next two matches as "critical" for the development of the side leading up to the Test series, commenting that it was important that the team had only one player injured, Martyn Williams."This is crucial as we enter matches against two of South Africa's strongest provinces in the Sharks and Western Province in the space of four days," he said. The Lions go into tomorrow's match undefeated during the provincial games and will be led by captain Paul O'Connoll. Jamie Roberts and Brian O'Driscoll are paired once again in centre and the back row will consist of David Wallace, Tom Croft and Jamie Heaslip.Victor Chandler (Go to VCBet ») has the Lions as favourites to beat the Sharks at odds of 1/12. South Africa remain the bookies' preferred choice to win the Test series and can be bought at 3/1 at Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet »).
