Wilkinson back in England squad
Jonny Wilkinson has made his way back into the England elite squad after recovering from a dislocated knee sustained in September. Manager Martin Johnson remarked that it had been tricky making choices for the 32-man side due to the quality of athletes available. He said: "Selection for the two squads has been very difficult because there is a greater strength in depth of players to choose from now than we had 12 months ago."Those unhappy with being picked for the Saxons line-up, Johnson added, may have a chance to make the first team due to injuries, suspensions or retirement. Even players outside of the 64-player squads could be able to make an appearance through these channels, he stated. Betting for the 2011 World Cup has New Zealand as the early favourites with bookmaker Sportingbet (Go to Sportingbet ») at odds of 6/5.
