McGeechan: Injuries have had an impact

British and Irish Lions coach Ian McGeehan has admitted that a number of injuries to the side has affected his selection for Saturday's final Test match against the South Africans in Johannesburg.Losing influential players like Jamie Roberts, Brian O'Driscoll, Gethin Jenkins and Adam Jones means a few team members will be receiving their Test debuts. He said: "The players coming into the starting XV are all talented international players and are as keen as ever to turn the tables on the Springboks."McGeechan commented that being "minutes away from victory" against the South Africans last Saturday is a significant positive for the squad. Alongside new faces Joe Worsley, Andrew Sheridan and Martyn Williams - who will be appearing in a Lions Test starting line-up for the first time - captain Paul O'Connell, Jamie Heaslip, Stephen Jones, Tommy Bowe and Mike Phillips are to play in their third match of the series. Bookmaker WBX (Go to WBX ») currently considers the Springboks as 4/13 favourites to win at the weekend. Those looking to bet on the visitors to snatch a game can find odds of 11/4 at Skybet (Go to Skybet »).
