Rugby union betting - Gloucester 'overcome nightmare season'
Gloucester have begun to turn their fortunes around after overcoming Bath in their opening Guinness Premiership fixture, new coach Bryan Redpath has stated.Dean Ryan left the club last season after failing to reach the play-offs and making an early exit from the Heineken Cup, but the latest campaign got underway with a 24-5 victory.
Redpath emphasised his belief that the players are responsible for achieving results and suggested that they "understand where it went wrong" last season and are now moving forward.
"They have put some of last season's nightmare to bed. All I can ask is they put themselves on the line, rather than hide behind an excuse," he said.
Gloucester are currently priced 5/1 by Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») to win the Grand Final, although Coral(Go to Coral ») offers odds of 7/1 that they will be victorious.
The latter gives Bath the same chances, with defending champions Leicester Tigers rated at 5/2.
