Rugby Union Betting News - Borthwick Fit For Toulon Challenge Cup Clash
Saracens lock Steve Borthwick has claimed he is fit to take on Toulon in the Amlin Challenge Cup on Thursday (October 15th) after getting the all-clear on an eye injury sustained during a match with Gloucester. The England captain received a kick to his orbital socket from hooker Olivier Azam, which left him with numbness and swelling, but specialists at Moorfields Eye Hospital were able to confirm he has suffered no lasting damage and allayed early fears that he may have a fracture.
This means he is likely to feature in the Sarries trip to Toulon, a match in which they are being offered at 11/17 with bookmaker Betfair(Go to Betfair ») to win.
Commenting on his status, Borthwick said: "I am good to go. It has healed really well."
"I am really looking forward to getting back involved later this week," he added.
Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») currently has Saracens at 7/1 to take the title in the Challenge Cup this season.
