Rugby Union Betting - Williams Injury To Tip Osprey Odds?
Shane Williams has been ruled out of action for the Ospreys after sustaining a torn hamstring in Wales's defeat to Australia at the weekend. Likely to be in the stands for at least four weeks, it means the squad now only has one scrum-half for their Heineken Cup match-up with Viadana later this month.
Director of coaching at the club Scott Johnson admitted that the loss of such an influential player "is always disappointing".
"This news is a particular blow for us given the current situation we have here regarding our scrum-halves," he added.
According to Johnson, the team now has three named nines out of commission, with tournament rules allowing just one squad change during the pool stages.
Bet365(Go to Bet365 ») has the Ospreys at 14/1 to lift the Heineken Cup at the end of the season, while Toulouse are considered the bookmakers' favourites with Paddy Power(Go to Paddy Power ») offering 4/1 on the French team winning.
