O'Shea 'to Take Quins Rugby Union Job'
Harlequins looks set to appoint former Ireland international Conor O'Shea as director of rugby, it has been claimed. According to Sky Sports, the full-back will be taking over from Dean Richards following the latter's resignation following the infamous 'bloodgate' scandal.
The news provider noted that O'Shea, who appeared 35 times for Ireland before retiring through an ankle injury eight years ago, has now been earmarked for the role.
Ex-London Irish player O'Shea previously served a stint in a similar role with the Exiles, before joining the RFU as their National Academy director.
He then moved to the English Institute of Sport before taking a hiatus from the sport, but sources claim the 39-year-old is being sought after to rescue the club's tarnished reputation after the fake blood episode.
Those who think O'Shea's appointment could boost the squad's performance in the Guinness Premiership can find them at odds of 25/1 to win with Boyle Sports(Go to Boyle Sports »).
Blue Square(Go to Blue Square ») currently considers Leicester the favourites at 9/4.
